illuminate photography at the austin bridal extravaganza :: wedding expo booth photos

oh mama, what a weekend!

:: friday :: we set up for the wedding show.  our 4 year old jonah came along and had a blast.  i wish i would have gotten some pics of him riding around on our loading cart as dave and i set up the booth.  i think at one point it was a train (puppy was the conductor & he was the caboose & all of his newly discovered beanie baby friends were the passengers) and later it was a beverage cart (he even offered imaginary airplane snacks to our booth neighbors).  so sweet!  jonah was actually sad to have to leave after we were done setting up, but we were all starving so we rewarded ourselves with a family dinner at elevation burger.  it was my first time there.  very yummy and totally hit the spot.

:: saturday :: i can’t wait to share the pics from hallie & austin’s wedding at villa st. clair.  it was a beautiful wedding, the bride was GORGEOUS and the whole day was just sooo much fun!  they had the band “more cowbell” play at the reception who i totally loved.  the whole day just flew by.  jonah got to spend the night at nana & papa’s the night before and hang with them while we worked at the show.  pretty sure it was a dream come true for everyone involved.  =)

:: sunday :: we were at the austin bridal extravaganza.  i thought i’d share a few pics of our new booth setup, but first i have to give mad props to rich (and ash) from east coast pizzuti studios photography for sharing info on what they used to construct their backdrop stand which was the inspiration for ours.  thanks guys!  you’re the best!

as far as the construction, for anyone who’s curious, we used fencing materials from lowe’s for the metal stand and those are metal prints with holes drilled in them hanging on chains with s-hooks from the back.  i dreamed up the design and layout and my amazing and oh-so-handy hubby (of 12 years!!!) made it a reality.

:: edit :: the largest metal prints are 24×36, the large squares are 24×24, the small squares & circles are 16″. used some of that complex algebra from freshman year to figure out this bad boy.

OH YEAH, did i mention sunday was our 12th anniversary!?  happy anniversary to us!  i love you, babe!  thanks for (setting up and) working (and tearing down) our bridal show booth with me on our anniversary.  you totally have the hoty (hubby of the year) award in the bag this year.

we put together a fun wedding show giveaway in honor of our 12th anniversary.  the next 12 brides who sign with us before july 12th get to draw for a fun prize valued from anywhere between $160 and $500!  some of the prizes include a 16×24 fine art canvas gallery wrap, a 2′ x 1-1/2′ StoryWall, 50 custom thank you notes and lots more!  …well, technically 11 now.  amanda & michael signed with us yesterday and drew a fun photo bag prize pack!

and on the right, we’ve been recommended on google so they sent us a big sticker!  so fun!

here’s me & my hubby!  and a HUGE thank you so much to my friend brooke for helping us “work it” on sunday!  we appreciate you soooooo much!  you did awesome!  (why didn’t we get a picture together? pooh!)

phew!  what a crazy weekend, but the great news is we’re doing what we love and we had so much fun doing it all!  it was awesome meeting all of you beautiful brides-(and a few grooms and moms and bridesmaids)-to-be!

xoxoxo,
